Gig at Puerto Prinsesa, Palawan

I played for Bamboo at a corporate event in Puerto Prinsesa, Palawan. I don’t have any photos of the actual gig, sorry. It was raining and I didn’t want my phone to get wet. Besides, taking out my phone while onstage wouldn’t look very professional, would it?

That’s Kakoy Legaspi heading out to the ocean. Chai, Kakoy, and I swam a bit before the sound check.

Backstage area. Not bad!

Chess marathon. Clockwise from left: Chai, Kakoy, Pancho, Simon, Chico

Multi-tasking.. putting on make-up while doing “homework.” It’s another string ensemble arrangement for an ongoing album project.

At the airport next day, heading back to Manila. With my pink feet

Went straight to ABS CBN from the airport to play keyboards for the ABS CBN Philharmonic

Tri United 2 at Playa Laiya, Batangas

I injured my hip (nothing major, but enough to make me lay off running for a while) and my running shoes have not been hitting the road for the past few months. So in the meantime, I decided to take up swimming as my regular exercise.

Last month, I joined the Tri United 2 sprint triathlon as part of a relay team together with some friends. It was a 1 kilometer open water swim, 30 kilometer bike and 7 kilometer run held at Playa Laiya in Batangas.

The “pose with your sport” photo, as if the costumes aren’t a dead giveaway. Me, Vic, and Jingle.

Gaah! Strong currents. Two months of swim training did NOT prepare me for this. Four foot waves kept slamming us down and backwards. For a few moments out there, I thought I was going to die. One such moment was captured below. The red buoy on the right is the swim turnaround, which was about 250 meters from shore. That’s me, second from left. Notice that I was looking straight at the buoy. “Bakit ang layo paaaaa....”

Photo we took while Vic was out running (without Vic in it... lol)

Most disorganized relay finish!

Fun, fun, fun Happy

Oh, and here’s an RC Helicopter video of the swim portion by Arnold Buena
