P.I. Jazzfest 2011

P.I. Jazzfest

- got to hang out with interesting, and extremely talented musicians from other countries, including Logic Jazz/Fusion group from Australia, Jon Irabagon from NY..
- it was like I “trained” for this event for 3 months prior, and then the whole week was the “race.” I think my effort paid off. But man, an hour of jazz piano practice in a day is really not enough. Many times, it felt like I only got warmed up. That was the best I could do, though, given my situation. It’s all good.
- read Aya Yuson’s review here
- grateful for jazz patrons in the Philippines. Bob Coscolluela and co. from Bacolod, plus a number of enthusiasts in Metro Manila. They really help keep the scene alive even in our third world setting.
